The Supreme Council deputies adopted at the plenary session a number of legislations of a social nature, designed to support vulnerable categories of the population.

The Supreme Council deputies at the plenary session today adopted in the second final reading amendments and additions to the PMR Code of Administrative Offenses that provide for punishment for drivers for deliberate drifting.

Amendments to a number of laws concerning the expansion of the Ombudsman's powers were adopted in the second final reading. One of the innovations is that the Commissioner for Human Rights will operate not for 5, but for 7 years.

The 1st Congress of Deputies of all levels of the left-bank regions of the MSSR and the city of Bendery was held on June 2, 1990. The congress adopted a declaration in which the foundations of the future republic were laid. Thus the legislative path to the statehood of Pridnestrovie began.

A new play area was opened for small residents and guests of the city in the square near the children's music school in Slobodzeya on June 1.

A new issue of "The Councils of the People" parliamentary newspaper has been published. It contains a long interview with the Supreme Council Chairman, the Victory Day holiday, state programs, new laws and how cities and regions are being transformed.

The winners of exhibition of children's drawings, which was held in the PMR Supreme Council, received their gifts today. The exhibition was organized for the holiday, the Children's Day. The children of parliamentarians and employees of the Office of the Supreme Council of the PMR brought their works.

The Supreme Council Chairman Alexander Korshunov congratulated Pridnestrovians on Children's Day.

Meeting of the Presidium of the PMR Supreme Council was held today. The parliamentarians decided on the date of the next plenary session, as well as on the list of issues that will be included for consideration by the deputies in the near future.
