Activists of the Obnovlenie party handed out St. George ribbons in the capital's Aviators Square, the village of Dubovo in Dubossary District, and the village of Mokra in Rybnitsa District. Pridnestrovie joined the all-Russian mass event in 2009.

The International Youth Round Table "Current Issues of Political Theory and Political Practice" was held the day before. The participants presented their reports on the "Historical Memory and Historical Amnesia: Echoes of World War II in Modern Political History" topic. The speakers were Alexander Savich, employee of the Legal Department of the PMR Supreme Council, and deputy of the Youth Parliament Vasily Badyan.
On April 23, 1992, at 7:45 a.m., on the section of the highway between the settlements of Slobodzeya and Karagash, the "Buzhor" terrorist group fired at the official car of Nikolai Ostapenko, Deputy of the Supreme Council of the 1st convocation, chairman of the Slobodzeya District Council. Memorial rally is held at the site of the tragedy every year.
The Presidium of the PMR Supreme Council decided to postpone the plenary session scheduled for April 23 until April 30.
