The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky held a meeting with members of the Presidium of "The Union of Defenders of Pridnestrovie" Republican public organization. It was attended by the Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Alexander Korshunov, the Chairman of the Government Alexander Rosenberg and defenders of the republic Valery Shirkov, Anatoly Bulda and Sergey Garbuznyak. The meeting took place on the eve of the 33rd anniversary of the tragedy in Bendery, the press service of the PMR President reports.
The interlocutors discussed the current state of affairs in the republic, summed up the results of the organization's activities, and outlined plans for further work. The head of state noted that the fundamental tasks of the union are to support defenders and their families, work with young people, and preserve the historical truth about the events of 1992, which was tragic for the Pridnestrovian people. Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized that Moldova does not abandon attempts to distort history, and not only the shameful Moldovan-Pridnestrovian war, but also the Great Patriotic War.
The President noted that today they are trying to present the war of 1992 in such a way that Russia and Pridnestrovie allegedly attacked poor and unfortunate Moldova. The head of state recalled that the invasion of Bendery on June 19, 1992 was not only without warning about the beginning of the war, but also demonstratively a day after the decision of the Moldovan parliament on an exclusively peaceful solution to the Pridnestrovian issue.
