News of the Supreme Council

The PMR Supreme Council adopted in two readings today the President’s legislations on increasing pensions and benefits in the republic by 10% from February 1, 2024.

The PMR Supreme Council adopted in the first reading the law-in-draft of the PMR President on amending the law “On Road Safety”. The initiative eliminates the test required to replace a driver's license.

The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky held a regular meeting dedicated to increasing the level of wages for healthcare workers. The dialogue was attended by Chairman of the Supreme Council Alexander Korshunov, head of the Committee on Economic Policy Viktor Guzun and head of the Committee on Social Policy and Healthcare Sergei Cheban.

Working meeting of the PMR Supreme Council Presidium was held online on January 30. The Parliament Speaker Alexander Korshunov and the heads of parliamentary Committees and the Commission clarified the agenda of the plenary meeting on January 31 and determined the date of the next plenary meeting of the Supreme Council.

The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky held a meeting with public and administrative authorities. The Supreme Council Chairman Alexander Korshunov took part in it. The meeting participants discussed the current situation in towns and work plans.

The 27^th of January is World Holocaust Remembrance Day. It was on this day in 1945 that the Red Army liberated prisoners from one of the largest Nazi concentration camps, Auschwitz-Birkenau, known as Auschwitz. Mourning events dedicated to this date were held at the Jewish cemetery in Bendery on January 26.

Memorial rally on the eve of International Holocaust Remembrance Day was held in Tiraspol. Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council Galina Antyufeyeva and parliamentarian Grigory Dyachenko laid flowers at the monument in memory of the innocent people killed during the years of fascist occupation.

The Supreme Council Chairman Alexander Korshunov addressed the Pridnestrovians on the occasion of Student's Day.

Deputies of the highest representative and only legislative body of the PMR took part in a nationwide rally of many thousands against the actions of the Republic of Moldova in relation to Pridnestrovie.
