The Congress delegates raised the problems that Pridnestrovians face because of pressure from Moldova, and told what they expect in Pridnestrovie after sending appeals to parliamentarians of the Russian Federation, participants in the “5+2” negotiating format and international organizations.
Delegates of the VII Congress of Deputies of all levels of Pridnestrovie unanimously voted for the final documents – the Resolution and Declaration of the Congress. The texts of the documents were read from the podium by deputy of the Commission on Foreign Policy and International Relations of the PMR Supreme Council Andrey Safonov.
The President called Moldova’s actions towards Pridnestrovie genocide.
Deputies of the Supreme Council and delegates from district and city councils of people's deputies spoke at the VII Congress of People's Deputies of all levels of the PMR. They confirmed the commitment of the Pridnestrovian people to peaceful resolution of issues at the negotiating table.
The PMR Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev and First Deputy Chairman of the Government – Minister of Economic Development of the PMR Sergey Obolonik spoke to the delegates of the VII Congress of Deputies of all levels of the PMR.
The PMR Supreme Council Chairman Alexander Korshunov, speaking on behalf of the PMR people at the VII Congress of Deputies of all levels addressed international structures with a demand to force the Moldovan authorities to abandon the economic strangulation of Pridnestrovie and prevent our republic from becoming a reservation or a “ghetto of the 21st century.”
The VII Congress of Deputies of all levels of Pridnestrovie was held at the Palace of the Republic. Against the background of economic pressure from Moldova, deputies from all cities and regions of the republic participated in the Congress in order to be heard.
The deputy corps supported the law-in-draft initiated by the Bendery City Council of People's Deputies in the second final reading at the last plenary meeting of the Supreme Council.
The PMR Supreme Council Deputies adopted amendments and additions to the law “On the Republican Budget for 2024” in the second final reading, which envisage an increase in wages for teachers and healthcare workers among other things. Parliamentarians approved the balances of funds generated as of January 1 of this year with amendments to the 2024 budget.
