Performance for Victory Day

07.05.2024

Pupils of the 4th grade of the Humanitarian and Mathematical Gymnasium of Tiraspol presented a literary and musical composition entitled “The River Flows” for Victory Day. The performance took place at the Yubileiny Youth Leisure Center in the capital. The honorary spectator was the PMR Supreme Council Deputy Chairman, deputy for constituency No. 25 “Western” Galina Antyufeyeva.

Young actors spoke about the events that took place on the territory of Pridnestrovie in different centuries. These are the times of Catherine the Great and the construction of the Tiraspol fortress, the Soviet pioneers, then the Great Patriotic War, the victorious May of 1945, peaceful life and military events in 1992, as well as multinational Pridnestrovie.

The performance was first shown last year on the stage of the gymnasium in Tiraspol. Slightly modified and re-lived production was decided this year to be presented to labor veterans, grandparents living in district No. 25 “Western”, to show: they remember the history in Pridnestrovie.

10-year-old actors spoke about the war in poetry about the events of 1941-1945. The projector showed the faces of participants in the Great Patriotic War – the great-grandfathers and great-grandmothers of high school students, as a tribute to the memory of the Soviet heroes who gave peace and freedom.

Vice-speaker and deputy for the Western district Galina Antyufeyeva presented letters of gratitude to the young actors on her behalf, and a Certificate of the Supreme Council to the primary school teacher. Galina Antyufeyeva expressed hope that the gymnasium students will perform the performance again.
