The PMR Supreme Council Presidium supplemented today the agenda of the next plenary meeting and set February 14 as the date for the next plenary meeting.

The Parliament Speaker Alexander Korshunov and deputies of the Supreme Council, representing the interests of Tiraspol residents, took part in a reporting meeting dedicated to the results of the work of the capital’s state administration for 2023.

The Supreme Council adopted the presidential initiative – pensions and social benefits increased in the republic from February 1. The Parliament together with the Ministry of Finance is looking for financial sources to increase salaries for teachers and doctors. Work continues in parliamentary committees and in constituencies. The leadership and deputies of the Supreme Council took part in the extended meeting of the Board of the PMR Prosecutor's Office, in the course of which the control and supervisory body reported on its work in 2023.

Parliamentarians supported in two readings their colleagues’ law-in-draft on amending the law “On the Status of Military Personnel”. The legislation gives the right to engage in paid sports activities, if this does not interfere with the performance of military service duties.

The Supreme Council adopted in the second final reading the changes proposed by the PMR President to the Code of Administrative Offenses. The law-in-draft introduces special liability for stopping or parking vehicles in places where prohibiting road signs or markings are installed.

Work on finding funds to increase wages in the education and health care systems continues in the Supreme Council. The President set such tasks to the Parliament and the Government in his Message to public and administrative authorities.

The PMR Supreme Council adopted in two readings today the President’s legislations on increasing pensions and benefits in the republic by 10% from February 1, 2024.
