Pensions and benefits will increase in Pridnestrovie from February 1

31.01.2024

The minimum age pension will increase by 10%, and social benefits and compensation will also increase by an average of 10% in Pridnestrovie from February 1, 2024.

The Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic adopted in two readings in the course of the plenary meeting on January 31 a package of legislative initiatives of the President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic on amending the laws “On the Republican Budget for 2024” and “On the Budget of the Unified State Social Insurance Fund for 2024”

Thus, the minimum amount of old-age pensions from February 1 will be 800 rubles 40 kopecks and the minimum pension amount for allowances and increases will be 464 rubles 30 kopecks, which is 72 rubles 75 kopecks and 42 rubles 20 kopecks, respectively, higher than the previously established minimum amounts.

The explanatory note to the draft law “On the ESFSS budget for 2024” provides an example: if a pensioner does not have more than the required length of service (with 20 years of work experience (woman) and an individual coefficient of 1.3), then the increase in the pension amount will occur due to an increase in the minimum the pension amount by 10% (currently the pension amount is 1,679 rubles 91 kopecks, but when recalculated from February 1, the pension amount will be 1,847 rubles 90 kopecks). The increase will be 167 rubles 99 kopecks.

The law-in-draft provides for an increase in the additional amount to the pension for recipients whose total work experience exceeds the required one, for 1 year – 8 rubles (currently the amount is 7 rubles 28 kopecks). Additional amounts to the pension, depending on the total length of service, can range from 8 rubles to 160 rubles.

The size of social payments, compensation and benefits for motherhood and childhood will increase from February 1. Payment amounts will also increase by about 10% due to an increase in the size of the estimated minimum wage – from 9 rubles 70 kopecks to 10 rubles 70 kopecks.

For example, the amount of the monthly child care benefit until the child reaches the age of 2 years is 121 minimum wages (this is 1173 rubles 70 kopecks). From February 1, the payment amount will increase to 1294 rubles 70 kopecks after increasing the size of the minimum wage.

The minimum wage from February 1, 2024 will be increased from 7 rubles 80 kopecks to 8 rubles 60 kopecks to pay compensation to close relatives living outside Pridnestrovie for persons killed as a result of military operations in defense of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic.

The parliamentarians emphasized that the tasks set by the President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic to implement the state’s social policy to improve the living standards of citizens of Pridnestrovie must be continued. The Supreme Council adopted last year changes to laws on increasing old-age pensions by 5% and benefits for citizens with children by 10% from February 1.

The legislations adopted today were sent for signature to the President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic and will come into force on February 1, 2024.
