Work on finding funds to increase wages in the education and health care systems continues in the Supreme Council. The President set such tasks to the Parliament and the Government in his Message to public and administrative authorities.
The parliament adopted today in two readings changes to the laws on the republican budget and the budget of the Unified State Social Insurance Fund for 2024, according to which pensions and benefits in the republic will increase by 10% from February 1. Deputies continue to work to find sources of funding to increase salaries for teachers and healthcare workers. Speaker of Parliament Alexander Korshunov and Chairman of the relevant Committee on Economic Policy, Budget and Finance Viktor Guzun spoke about this in an interview with media representatives.
As for teachers, by the end of February, deputies, together with government representatives, must find sources for increasing salaries and adopt appropriate changes to legislation. We are talking not only about teachers in schools, but also educators in kindergartens, teachers in art schools and sports schools, as well as teachers in various clubs in the additional education system. The head of the relevant parliamentary Committee noted, it is planned that all of them will have to receive an increased salary for February already in March.
An increase in wages in the healthcare system is planned from April 1. The Republican Clinical Hospital launched a pilot salary project in the medical industry in 2023. The salaries of employees of the Republican Clinical Hospital increased by an average of 50%. So, according to the data announced by the head physician of the medical institution, Igor Tostanovsky in the course of the meeting with the President, the salary today averages 8031 rubles (+47%) for doctors, 5493 rubles (+57%) for nurses, 4038 rubles (+ 53%) for junior medical staff, 4657 rubles (48%) for other specialists.
Changes have already begun in healthcare institutions. The staffing table was approved, the available hospital bed capacity was monitored, and calculations related to the need to increase the number of day hospital beds were made. Preliminary calculations of additional state costs associated with the launch of the pilot project are ready, separately for each of the 17 organizations and for this year as a whole.
The state is making every effort to implement the plan despite the negative influence of external factors. Work in this direction continues in the Supreme Council.
