Responsibility for parking violation

Traffic militia officers will issue a fine of 184 rubles for stopping of parking violation. Violators paid 92 rubles previously, since this amount of fine was issued for failure to comply with all road signs. Now, the paragraph has been prescribed in the Code of Administrative Offenses in Article 12.17 for failure to comply with the requirements of a sign prohibiting stopping or parking.

In addition, the car will be sent to the impound lot if the driver is absent and under the prohibition sign there is a sign “A tow truck is in operation”. Deputies adopted the President's law-in-draft on amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses at a plenary session in the second final reading. Signs about the operation of the tow truck have not been installed until now. State traffic inspectors had questions, whether it could be towed away in the case when a car parked under a “No Parking” sign interfered with traffic.

Changes to the Code of Administrative Offenses will come into force 14 days after official publication. Local authorities and the Ministry of Internal Affairs will jointly decide where road signs need to be installed.
