News of the Supreme Council

The Supreme Council supported in the first reading the law-in-draft of the deputies of the Committee on Legislation, Protection of Rights and Freedoms of Citizens, which prescribes cases of granting a readjournment  of punishment for a certain category of convicts who have children.

The Supreme Council adopted in the final reading the legislations of the PMR Prosecutor concerning the granting of additional powers to him. This concerns the right of the PMR Prosecutor to initiate and investigate cases only in relation to official crimes.

The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky held an extended meeting to prepare for the celebration of the anniversary of the liberation of Pridnestrovie from the German-Romanian invaders and the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The PMR Supreme Council Deputy, leader of "The Heirs of Victories" movement Igor Buga took part in the discussion.

The head of Grigoriopol state administration Oleg Gabuzha presented the main results of the local government's work for the past year. The Chairman of the Supreme Council Alexander Korshunov and the Supreme Council deputies Dmitry Ogirchuk, Oleg Leontyev and Vladimir Pelin together with the PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky heard the Report of Oleg Gabuzha.

The Presidium meeting was held in the PMR Supreme Council. The heads of parliamentary Committees and Commissions discussed the legislations received and considered at the Committee meetings and supplemented the agendas of the upcoming plenary meetings.

Flower-laying ceremonies in honor of the Day of the Formation of the People's Militia of Pridnestrovie were held in towns and districts on March 17.

Chairman of the Supreme Council Alexander Korshunov and parliamentarians from Slobodzeya electoral districts Sergey Cheban and Pavel Shinkaryuk heard a report from the head of state administration of Slobodzeya district and Slobodzeya Vasily Tishchenko on the work last year.

20 thousand Pridnestrovian militiamen helped defend the young state. 232 people – at the cost of their lives. A flower-laying ceremony was held at the capital's Memorial of Military Glory today. Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Education and Public Associations Igor Buga laid fresh flowers on behalf of the Supreme Council at the Eternal Flame and granite slabs with the names of the fallen defenders.

The PMR Supreme Council continued to work in the VIII session of the VII convocation on amendments and additions to the legislation related to the economic policy of the state. Amendments were made to the laws regulating the tax, customs, and budget spheres, as well as for the development of entrepreneurship and support of the republic's industry. The main laws in the economic sphere adopted by the Supreme Council in the autumn of 2024 are in the content of the parliamentary press service.

The leadership and deputies of the PMR Supreme Council took part in the traditional meeting of the President at the beginning of the working week.
