Large-scale preparations are underway for the celebration in Pridnestrovie of the anniversary of Victory

The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky held an extended meeting to prepare for the celebration of the anniversary of the liberation of Pridnestrovie from the German-Romanian invaders and the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The PMR Supreme Council Deputy, leader of "The Heirs of Victories" movement Igor Buga took part in the discussion.

Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized that the events should unite residents and guests of the republic in order to worthily celebrate significant historical dates despite the restrictions related to the current geopolitical situation and the "yellow" level of terrorist threat.

The key events of the celebration of the 81st anniversary of the liberation of the Pridnestrovian cities from the Nazi invaders will begin in April. The main events will unfold at the Glory Memorial in Tiraspol. On April 11, the remains of an unknown Soviet soldier, found by the searchers of the "The Heirs of Victories" in Parkany, will be reburied there, and a monument to the Unknown Soldier, created on the model of the Moscow monument, will be erected in the new part of the memorial complex. A traditional flower-laying ceremony in memory of the liberators of Tiraspol will take place the following day, April 12. 

The celebrations for the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory on May 6 will open with a divine liturgy at the chapel of St. George the Victorious (Memorial of Glory), which will be conducted by Archbishop Sawa. Wreaths will be laid at the Eternal Flame, and the guests of honor will be representatives of military units, as well as future defenders of the Fatherland – young army cadets, Suvorov cadets, cadets, participants in "The Heirs of Victories" movement. The atmosphere will be complemented by a performance by the Pridnestrovian State Choir, and the day will end with a field kitchen. On May 7, a festive concert will be held in the Palace of the Republic, in the program of which a special place will be occupied by the artists of the orchestra of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the PMR. On May 8, war veterans will meet at the traditional Dugout near the City Palace of Culture, the website of the President of the PMR reports. 

On May 9, celebrations in Tiraspol in honor of the 80th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War will begin with the raising of the PMR flag and the Victory Banner on the central square of the capital. There will be a procession of the Immortal Regiment along the central street and Suvorov Square then, in which everyone can participate. The memory of the fallen will be honored with a minute of silence, after which wreaths and flowers will be laid at the Glory Memorial. A field kitchen will be opened in the Catherine Park, concerts will be held during the day and evening of May 9, and 500 pairs of young men and women will perform the Victory Waltz on Suvorov Square. On the same day, the first stage of the Pridnestrovian State Museum dedicated to the Great Patriotic War will open in the republic. 

Another traditional thematic event is a historical reconstruction. It will be timed to coincide with the 84th anniversary of the attack of Nazi Germany on the Soviet Union and will take place on June 21 on the city beach. The Heirs of Victory movement is preparing a patriotic festival at the same time. 

It was noted at the meeting with the President that in connection with the large-scale preparation, such working meetings will be held regularly to ensure a high level of organization of the celebratory events for the anniversary of the Great Victory.
