News of the Supreme Council

State measures will be in effect in the economy of the PMR in the context of the state of emergency. An information hour dedicated to the implementation of an automated fare collection system was held in the Supreme Council. The PMR Supreme Council adopted in the final reading a draft of a new law that defines state measures to minimize the negative consequences of a possible cessation of gas supplies to Pridnestrovie.

New Year trees made by children, snowmen and a snake – a symbol of the coming year decorated the Bendery House of Culture named after Pavel Tkachenko. The results of the New Year's creative competition for children of constituency No. 5 "Central" were summed up there the day before.

The Union of Russian Communities of Pridnestrovie Chairperson Viorika Kokhtareva summed up the results of the organization's work in the outgoing 2024. Dozens of events were held to preserve history and culture, and support was provided among other things to children and young people with disabilities. Deputy Chairperson of the Supreme Council Galina Antyufeeva thanked the Union of Russian Communities for the work done.

The PMR Supreme Council adopted at a plenary session in the first reading today the draft of the new law "On state measures aimed at minimizing the negative impact of the reduction (termination) of natural gas supplies to the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic". In the mode of legislative necessity, this law-in-draft was sent to the Supreme Council by the PMR President.

The automated fare payment system mechanism discussion at the Supreme Council was initiated by parliamentarians based on appeals from transport workers concerned about how fixed-route taxis will operate on city, suburban and intercity routes from January 1, 2025.

The Supreme Council adopted in the second final reading amendments to the law "On universal military duty and military service" concerning the provision of a deferment from conscription for doctors.

Flowers were laid at the monument to the soldiers of the Afghan war at the capital's Glory Memorial. The memory of the fallen comrades was honored by the Chairman of the Pridnestrovian Association of Veterans of the War in Afghanistan, Chairman of the Education Committee Igor Buga.

The Supreme Council held a meeting of the Advisory Assembly of the first Pridnestrovian deputies dedicated to the potential gas crisis. The PMR Supreme Council Chairman Alexander Korshunov took part in the discussion.

The keys to two new buses were ceremoniously handed over to the school principals of the villages of Giska and Protyagaylovka in Bendery. The ceremony was attended by Supreme Council deputies Oleg Petrik and Anton Onufrienko.
