News of the Supreme Council

The meeting of the Presidium of the Parliament was held in the briefing hall of the PMR Supreme Council today. The Supreme Council Chairman and heads of the parliamentary Committees set the dates for the next plenary sessions; legislations in the fields of education, media, healthcare and social policy were submitted for consideration by the deputy corps.

The award ceremony for the "Memory is Stronger than Time" republican drawing competition best work authors was held in Tiraspol. The Obnovlenie Party was one of the organizers of the competition. The jury evaluated almost 800 drawings by young artists from all over Pridnestrovie.

Deputies of villages, districts and cities of the left-bank Soviet Moldova and the city of Bendery gathered 35 years ago, on June 2, 1990 for the 1st Congress of Deputies of all Levels. 673 delegates of the congress arrived in the village of Parkany, Slobodzeya district. Historians recall that nothing like this had ever happened on the territory of the Soviet Union.

Festive events were held in all cities, districts and villages of Pridnestrovie in honor of International Children's Day on May 30 and 31, June 1. The PMR Supreme Council Deputies in their constituencies congratulated children on the holiday, the beginning of summer and holidays.

A bright holiday for children from the Zapadny microdistrict and the settlement of Novotiraspolsky was held in the constituency No. 25 "Zapadny" on the eve of Children's Day. The organizer was the PMR Supreme Council Deputy Chairman, deputy for the district Galina Antyufeeva with local deputies.

The day before, the Bendery residents gathered for an entertainment program in honor of Children's Day. The holiday is traditionally organized for residents of constituency No. 5 "Central" by elected representatives: Deputy of the Supreme Council for the district Sergey Pisarenko and deputies of the Bendery City Council.

The PMR archivists celebrate their professional holiday on the 1st of June. A ceremonial meeting was held on the eve of the date and in honor of the 100th anniversary of the formation of the PMR archival service in the Palace of the Republic. Congratulations were given on behalf of the PMR Supreme Council.
