To develop a new law on tourism that would meet the modern context and tasks of the integrated development of tourism - such a task was set for this year by the President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Vadim Krasnoselsky as part of his message to state authorities and administration in January. Tourism is one of the investment directions, and it is a budget-forming one in many states, the PMR President considers. Creation of infrastructure, logistics – this requires a legal basis. The Government submitted to the parliament law-in-draft "On tourism in the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic". The initiative was considered today by the Committee on Education, Science, Culture, Public Associations, Sports, Information and Youth Policy. The law “On the Fundamentals of Tourism in the PMR”, which has been in force since 2002, does not fully regulate this area, it was noted in the course of the meeting of the Committee.
The draft law was presented to the deputies by Anna Mikolishina, Director of the State Institution "Tourism Agency of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic". She noted that the project was developed in pursuance of the state target program for the support and development of tourism for 2019-2026 to improve legislation in tourism.
The new law will include rules obliging certification for the provision of services in the tourism sector. This will improve the quality of service for tourists. It is planned to introduce a unified republican register of tourism. This is an information base that will contain a data bank on all organizations working in the field of tourism. Thus, tour operators and travel agents will be able to carry out activities only after registration in a single register. The new law will regulate the procedure for training specialists in the field of tourism and the frequency of advanced training.
Deputies of the Committee on Education, Science, Culture, Public Associations, Sports, Information and Youth Policy emphasized the importance of adopting a new law on tourism. The parliamentarians will recommend the initiative for adoption in the first reading at one of the plenary sessions.
