To perpetuate the memory of fallen heroes

The law-in-draft "On perpetuation of the memory of killed in the defense of the Fatherland" was developed by the former government staff and sent to the Supreme Council during the election campaign. Representative of the Ministry of Defence noted during today's meeting of the parliamentary committee: the legislative initiative is necessary because the burial of the remains of the dead defenders are still not legally regulated. However, according to experts, the law-in-draft has caused a lot of questions. The mechanisms of search operations is not defined, as well as the powers of the agency are not spelled out,which will coordinate this activity. Parliamentarians told about contradictions.

The Deputy emphasized that the presented document require serious revision. It will be necessary to prepare a large number of amendments to it, it will also need to make changes to other legislation. Therefore, parliamentarians are considering the possibility, based on the Russian experience in this sphere, to develop a new legislative initiative, in which all disputes would be taken into account.

Deputies will solve the the fate of this law-in-draft during the plenary session.
