Parliamentarians in the course of the meeting of the Committee on Private Association, Sports, Information and Youth Policy discussed the law-in-draft of Deputy Yury Chorin V convocation on making amendments to the law "On social protection of war veterans". It is proposed to acknowledge the participants of the "Anadyr" strategic military operations veterans of combat operations without giving them the right to benefits established for the soldiers-internationalists. Historians called "The Anadyr" operation unique, unparalleled in modern military history. It took place from 1 July 1962 to 30 November 1963 in the extreme conditions of the naval blockade, the military situation and the introduction of the limited military operations on the territory of the Republic of Cuba. Although grouping of Soviet troops did not lead direct military operations, soldiers carried enormous moral and psychological and physical stress in conditions of hard tropical climate, with courage and dignity fulfilled their military duty.
A Negative opinion was received on behalf of the Government for the proposed initiative. As explained by the official representative of the recognition of the participants "Anadyr" strategic military operations veterans fighting suggests issuing appropriate certificates. The document existence will be talking about granting privileges. Therefore, adoption of the initiative does not provide for the introduction of preferences for soldiers Cubans will be contrary to the laws of the nature.
Deputies insisted on the adoption of amendments to the Law "On social protection of war veterans" in the first reading in order to secure for members of the military-strategic operation "Anadyr" new status.
Another socially significant initiative was discussed at the appropriate committee. Deputies Igor Buga and Andrei Safonov offered to provide the right to receive two pensions to widows, not remarried, and the parents of combatants killed during the fighting in the territory of other states, or died as a result of injuries received by the military, diseases.
The focus of the Committee of Deputies was also another timely proposal - an amendment to the Electoral Code, thereby reducing voter turnout in the elections of the President of PMR to 25%. Today, the presence of this number gives the right to be considered valid only to the election of deputies. Currently, turnout in the presidential election is more than 50%.
In the near future the law-in-draft of deputies Igor Buga and Andrei Safonov will be discussed during the plenary session.
