Sports: per aspera ad astra

The round table, which was attended by representatives of the legislative and executive branches of government, heads of sports organizations, coaches took place under the auspices of parliamentary committee. Prospects of participation of Pridnestrovian athletes possessing the nationality of the Russian Federation in the official national competitions and the national team of Russia in the European and world championships were in the focus of the discussion.

Unrecognition of Pridnestrovie, is the savings box of sporting achievements which has never been empty, do not allow our children to fight for awards under its own flag. The only opportunity to participate in international sporting life - is to act in the national team of Moldova, Ukraine, Russia. But this path is not always acceptable. If we talk about co-operation with Russia, the law of that country requires the athlete not only the citizenship, but also residence in the territory of one of the subjects of the Russian Federation.

Subscription of Memorandum of Cooperation between the Ministry of Sport and Public Administration of Sport of Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic is scheduled for February 9 this year. The workshop with the participation of all interested members of the Pridnestrovian side scheduled for tomorrow morning to travel to Moscow to discuss the provisions of this document.

Participants talked about the necessity to preserve the talented youth in the republic in parallel with the problem of being Pridnestrovian athletes in the international arena. Coaches are investing time and energy into the development of the children, knowing that they will have to let them go where will be given the opportunity for further improvement and self-realization (almost fifty Pridnestrovians are training to date only in Moscow and the Moscow region). This is not possible in Pridnestrovie today. The root of the problem lies not only in politics but in the economic plane as well. Sports facilities of the republic is outdated. Equipment is very much exhausted. The Capital Stadium, for example, for its 70-year history, did not know updating. At that, the situation is much more favorable in Tiraspol than in other districts. According to the coach, who took part in the round table, there are cases when it is necessary to heat the "stove" to warm the gymnasium. Pridnestrovian community of racing crew kept afloat thanks to climatic features of the region. River, favorable temperature conditions, a good diet of natural food not only allow year-round train local athletes, but also attract Russian and Belarusian colleagues to participate in the autumn getting together. It is not possible to improve the situation with the help of only one nature, even coupled with the talent coaches and athletes of the most difficult for the sports industry of the republic. The last round table in Parliament confirmed the necessity to consolidate efforts to solve common problems.
