Deputies considered in the course of the meeting of the parliamentary Committee on Education, Public Associations and the Media the law-in-draft amending the law "On the Museum Fund and Museums in the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic" in the first reading.

The author of the legislative initiative was the Government. The law-in-draft was presented by the head of the State Service for Culture and Historical Heritage, Maria Kyrmyz. She clarified that the proposed changes introduce clear definitions for the terms "cultural values" and "publication". One of the key aspects of the law-in-draft is a proposal to supplement the current law with an article that will regulate the state accounting of museum objects and collections included in the Museum Fund. This will contribute to ensuring legal protection and state control over museum objects. The new norm will define the accounting procedure, including identification and registration in the Main Inventory Book (receipt book). It is proposed to introduce two types of state accounting: primary and centralized. Primary accounting involves the examination and registration of museum objects and collections for subsequent inclusion in the Museum Fund, while centralized accounting will ensure the systematization of information in the State Catalog of the Museum Fund.

267769 museum items were registered in the Main Inventory Books of the museums of Pridnestrovie as of January 1, 2023, which are not legally part of the Museum Fund, since they are not registered in the State Catalog of the Museum Fund in accordance with the legislation. The adoption of the law-in-draft will clarify the procedures for the formation of the Museum Fund and its legal registration.

The deputies of the relevant parliamentary committee supported the law-in-draft. It will be submitted for consideration by the deputy corps in the first reading at one of the next plenary sessions of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic.
