Preservation of historical heritage

The "Historical Monuments" section of the Unified State Register of Immovable Cultural Heritage Objects will include a memorial sign "Tank crossing" located in Slobodzeya district in the village Sukleya near the Dniester River. The corresponding addition was considered today by the deputies of the Committee on Education, Public Associations and Mass Media.

There are no facts of burials of Soviet soldiers at this place. They are located in the center of the village, where the Monument to Soviet soldiers who died during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 is located. "Tank crossing" has been reconstructed more than once. The last renovation work was carried out in 2009. Now the memorial sign is a black slab, which depicts the moment of the crossing of the Soviet troops.

Inclusion of the object in the state register of monuments will allow carrying out work on its preservation. It is planned to improve the territory near the memorial sign and install an information board telling about the events of the Great Patriotic War it is dedicated to.

The deputies of the profile committee, noting the importance of the historical site, decided to recommend at the plenary session to adopt the law-in-draft in two readings at once.
