Deputies of the Committee on Education, Public Associations and Media proposed to make amendments and additions to the PMR Law “On Cinematography” and to the Code of Administrative Offences. The new norms will consolidate the powers of the State Service for Culture and Historical Heritage to issue distributors permission to distribute foreign films in Pridnestrovie. Such permission will be issued based on the results of an examination of the film’s compliance with the current legislation of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic.
For the distribution of a film without permission obtained from the State Service for Culture, administrative liability will be provided. The fine from 100 to 350 minimum wages for individuals, from 200 to 500 minimum wages (1 minimum wage = 18.4 rubles) for legal entities. The fine for individuals will be from 350 to 450 minimum wages, for legal entities - from 500 to 800 minimum wages or administrative suspension of activities for up to 90 days in case of repeated violation.
According to the authors, the proposed norms will allow the State Service for Culture and Historical Heritage to control all institutions that are involved in the distribution and screening of film products in the republic, including non-state ones.
Changes and additions to the law “On Cinematography” and to the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic will be considered by the deputy corps in the first reading mode at the next plenary sessions.
