Deputies of the Committee on Education, Public Associations and Media heard reports from the chief editors of state media. Every year, as part of the implementation of the norms of the law “On the Mass Media,” the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic heard reports on the activities of state media and approves the relevant resolutions today.
The First Pridnestrovian TV channel continued the strategy of building modern television, editor-in-chief Viktor Savchenko emphasized in his report last year. The broadcasting network of the First Pridnestrovian is designed at the same time for audiences of all ages. You can get acquainted thanks to the State television broadcasts on various platforms in addition to the airwaves with the news of the republic and the world, various entertaining and educational programs of the First Pridnestrovian on social networks - Odnoklassniki, VKontakte, Instagram, the most up-to-date information in the Viber and Telegram messengers, and YouTube video hosting. Moreover, the audience of online services is constantly increasing.
First Pridnestrovian news is published in three official languages, and the news agenda can be traced in all projects and programs of the channel. Journalists and editors of the state television channel prepare materials for all important dates in the history of Pridnestrovie, a lot of attention is paid to patriotic education, and information about the history of the region is presented in an interesting form. We can highlight the “Land of Legends” project in particular. Cooperation with Russian colleagues is also developing.
A report on the activities of Radio 1, which along with the First Pridnestrovian TV Channel and the Pridnestrovian News agency is part of the Pridnestrovian State Television and Radio Company, was presented by editor-in-chief Natalya Zhelobayeva. The state radio station broadcasts news in the three official languages. The popular informational, educational and entertainment programs “Evening Watch”, “In the Spotlight” operate successfully. They discuss various topics in addition to news: health, education, digitalization, tourism, agriculture. Patriotic and historical issues are also at the top of the news agenda. The project “Discovering Pridnestrovie” is regularly broadcast, the texts for which the author compiles based on his own rather rare books about Pridnestrovie, which are not available online. Radio journalists prepare special and thematic broadcasts for anniversaries in the history of Pridnestrovie. Much attention is paid to the development of social networks and messengers of Radio 1.
The “News of Pridnestrovie” information agency relies on the development and filling of social networks and instant messengers with information. Media director Alla Ivanchenko spoke about new projects that journalists were preparing for important dates in history. The agency’s website over the past year has published longreads and special projects about the history of the Metallurgical Plant, the life and work of Valentina Solovyova, Hero of the USSR, tanker Vladimir Bochkovsky, other outstanding personalities in the history of the republic and those who live in our time.
The editors-in-chief of “The Pridnestrovie”, “The Adevarul Nistrian” and “The Gomin” newspapers presented reports on their activities. Print publications do not lag behind electronic media and keep up with the times. They develop social networks and work on special projects. For example, the team of “The Gomin”newspaper published the book “Let’s not forget these names,” which included essays published in the newspaper in 2023 and 2024 about the dead and deceased defenders of Pridnestrovie. The online version of the publication, designed in the form of a longread, was published on the website of the Pridnestrovian Historical Portal.
Deputies of the Committee on Education, public associations and the media asked the editors-in-chief questions and were interested in the problems faced by the editorial offices of state media. Almost everyone has a shortage of qualified personnel, a particularly big problem with journalists who speak Ukrainian. Newspapers' main task is to attract more subscribers both among citizens and legal entities.
Addressing the chief editors of state media, the head of the relevant Committee noted the importance of further work in the field of patriotic education and preservation of family values.
The Committee on Education, Public Associations and the Media decided to submit consideration of resolutions on the approval of reports of the chief editors of state media to one of the next plenary meetings of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic.
