Acquaintance with the New People faction and a round table in the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation (UPDATED)

The third day of the working visit of the parliamentary delegation to Moscow was also eventful. Deputies of the Supreme Council Alexander Korshunov, Sergey Cheban and Viktor Guzun met with representatives of the United Russia faction, with Artem Turov in particular. Pridnestrovian parliamentarians met with representatives of the New People faction in the State Duma today.

The Public Chamber of Russia hosted a round table on the topic "The role of civil society in improving international humanitarian relations between Russia and Pridnestrovie" today. Its moderator was Natalya Narochnitskaya, Doctor of Historical Sciences, well-known public and political figure, member of the Public Chamber Commission on Education and Enlightenment. Well-known figures Alexander Brod, Pavel Pozhigailo and Bogdan Bespalko spoke about how to make humanitarian ties between Moscow and Tiraspol more dynamic and stronger. From Pridnestrovie, Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev and Chairman of the Public Chamber of the PMR Vladimir Ladunkin spoke online about how important it is to continue cooperation in the field of education, science and culture. Chairman of the Supreme Council Alexander Korshunov thanked Russia for the constant support of Pridnestrovie.

Alexander Korshunov emphasized: with the support of Russia and civil society institutions in particular, it is necessary to draw attention to Pridnestrovie and provide assistance so that Russian citizens, compatriots living in the republic, are protected. And Pridnestrovie, having all the constitutional bodies of statehood, could develop freely and democratically in the vector of Russian interests, as well as in accordance with international legal norms.

Plenipotentiary Representative of the PMR Supreme Council in the Russian Federation for Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Olga Gukalenko thanked the participants for an interesting and constructive discussion. She expressed hope that regular meetings in similar and other formats at various venues in Russia and other countries will help draw attention to issues related to the violation of the rights of compatriots and Russian citizens living in Pridnestrovie.
