Deputies considered proposed by the government amendments to the law “On the social protection of war veterans”. The talk at the plenary session was about granting benefits in respect of invalids of the Great Patriotic War who live in the territory of the republic on the basis of registration at the place of stay.

The significance of the amendments was previously noted by deputies of the profile committee on social policy. That was the opinion by deputies. The law-in-draft during plenary session was supported in the first reading.

The Law “On Social Protection of War Veterans” exempts war invalids and family members living with them from paying for public utilities.

Legislative initiative during the plenary session was adopted in the first reading by parliamentarians from the Committee on Legislation concerning the amendment of the Labor Code. The deputies supported the provision of social guarantees for employees raising three or more children. After the adoption of the amendments, parents with many children will be able to get paid leave at will and at a time convenient for them. A similar rule is applied in the Russian Federation.
