The legislations regulating issues of local self-government and housing and communal services were considered by the Parliament

27.02.2024

The deputy corps supported the law-in-draft initiated by the Bendery City Council of People's Deputies in the second final reading at the last plenary meeting of the Supreme Council. The amendments affected the PMR Law “On local authorities, local self-government and state administration in the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic”.

The main goal of the law-in-draft was to eliminate duplicative provisions in legislation. Local authorities can set fines for various violations. For example, damage to the natural environment, pollution of streets, sidewalks, lawns, damage to the property of the local Council, etc. The Bendery City Council considers that they should not and cannot be within the competence of local authorities since the amounts of fines are established by the Code of Administrative Offenses and the Criminal Code.

The adopted Law will be sent to the President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic for signing and promulgation and will come into force on the day of its official publication.

The package of laws amending the Housing Code and the Law on the Road Fund caused heated discussion and controversy at the plenary session. The legislations were withdrawn from consideration for revision by a majority vote.
