The law-in-draft on the mentoring institution introduction was adopted in the first reading

02.07.2025

The Supreme Council adopted an amendment to the Labor Code of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic on the introduction of the institution of mentoring in Pridnestrovie in the first reading at a plenary session. Deputies Galina Antyufeeva, Oleg Petrik and Sergey Cheban presented this law-in-draft.

As Chairperson of the Committee on Legislation, Protection of Citizens' Rights and Freedoms Galina Antyufeeva noted at the plenary session, the absence of special regulation of relations related to mentoring in the Labor Code leads to ambiguity in law enforcement practice; mentors often do not have clearly defined rights and guarantees, and their work is not always adequately rewarded.

The idea, which parliamentarians formalized into a full-fledged law-in-draft, belongs to Vladimir Zinar, the winner of the Republican research competition "#ВПраве". He is also a young specialist, whom mentors helped quickly get used to the workplace. Vladimir Zinar has been working in the Ministry of Economic Development for about a year.

The author of the idea admits: a 3-month probationary period with wise mentors is enough to feel confident in a new job.

It is proposed to introduce Article 331-2 "Features of labor regulation of employees performing mentoring work in the field of labor" into the Labor Code. It sets out the definition of mentoring, noting that the employer specifies the content, terms and form of such work in the employment contract or additional agreement. The law-in-draft establishes the terms of payments to mentors through employment contracts, regulations and agreements, in accordance with the employer's current remuneration systems.

The employee will have the right to early refuse mentoring, and the employer – to early cancel his assignment, notifying the employee of this at least 3 working days in advance.

Work on the law-in-draft "On Amending the Labor Code of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic" will continue in the second reading.
