The Pridnestrovian delegation takes part in the XXVI International Christmas Educational Readings. The Chairman of the Supreme Council Alexander Shcherba and his deputy Galina Antyufeeva are on the delegation. The forum, which takes place in the Russian capital from January 24 to 26, is devoted to the theme "Moral values and the future of mankind". This is an annual church-public forum that unites thousands of representatives of religious confessions, social sphere, education, culture on the Moscow platform.
Within the framework of the forum January 25, the VI Christmas parliamentary meetings took place, that have already become traditional. Solemn meeting and round tables were held in the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation. His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia addressed the parliamentarians. In his speech, he focused on the moral observations of lawmaking. According to him, while the state remains committed to traditional morality, it serves to limit the evil in society - otherwise the laws can turn into a dangerous tool of dehumanization.
In the context of his speech, he addressed the legislators with a request to draft a separate law on the status of large families. The proposal was fully supported by the senators. The Speaker of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation instructed to begin the development of the document without delay. As noted by Valentina Matvienko, in Russia, measures to support large families are scattered according to different laws and it is necessary to collect them in a single document.
Petr Tolstoy, vice-speaker of the State Duma, also announced readiness to get involved in this work. At the same time, he drew attention to the contradiction faced by parliamentarians in their work: it is impossible to fight with evil only by legal norms; for this, moral guidelines are necessary, which can not be prescribed in any laws.
According to him, the educational system should become the conductor of moral guidelines.
As part of the working trip, the leadership of our parliament plans to hold a number of meetings to discuss issues that are under the control of the Supreme Council. It is about the realization of the rights and freedoms of man and citizen. Legislative mechanisms that operate on the territory of Russia should be applied to Russians living in the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, the speaker said.
