Representative of the public organization for the protection of animals "Alliance" Inna Varava discussed the problem of abandoned animals with the Speaker of Parliament. There are more and more stray animals on the streets according to her. The measures that are in force in the republic today are not enough to finally solve the problem. The constantly increasing number of stray dogs and cats poses a great threat to both people and the animals themselves at the same time.
This is not the first time that the issue of responsible treatment of animals has been understood within the walls of Parliament. Alexander Korshunov noted that even now the relevant Committee of the Supreme Council is considering several legislative initiatives designed to solve problems with stray animals. Their microchipping, and regulation of the activities of animal shelters are among the proposed measures are registration of animals. Inna Varava has proposals for modernizing the current legislation. The Chairman of the Supreme Council proposed sending them to parliament in the form of an official appeal and continuing cooperation to find an optimal solution to the existing problem.
