In the course of the briefing, a high turnout at the presidential elections was noted in the Central Election Commission of the PMR: 73 947 citizens took part in the voting, according to the information agency "Novosti Pridnestrovie". According to the head of the Central Election Commission Elena Gorodetskaya, this is a record turnout of Pridnestrovians in the electoral processes in Russia. For comparison, in the last presidential election in 2012, 50 368 voters voted (85% of voters supported Vladimir Putin). In 2016, 55,693 Pridnestrovian Russians participated in the election of deputies to the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.

On March 18, 87 public observers, delegated by the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation, monitored the elections. Complaints and information about any violations in the CEC of the PMR, the RF Embassy in the Republic of Moldova and election commissions have not been received.

Vice Speaker of Parliament, the leader of “The Obnovlenie” (Renewal) party Galina Antyufeeva noted that Pridnestrovians actively expressed their civil position.

Galina Antyufeeva noted the prompt coordinated work of volunteers. Volunteers from among the representatives of youth organizations helped the less mobile people in polling stations. Such a project was held for the first time in the elections in Pridnestrovie. The Vice-Speaker suggested using the potential of the Pridnestrovian youth more actively. According to the legislator, now it is necessary to solve issues of concern to citizens, including the adoption of Russian citizenship, so that voters are not disappointed in their choice.

The vice-speaker supposes that when holding future Russian elections, it is worthwhile to raise the issue of increasing the number of polling stations - yesterday's vote, especially in Tiraspol, where queues were observed, showed that there is such a need.

With the re-election to the post of President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin was congratulated by Vadim Krasnoselsky. The President sent a congratulatory telegram to Vladimir Putin, the press service of the President stated.
