Labor veteran Vera Yuvchenko celebrated her 85th birthday

Labor veteran Vera Andreevna Yuvchenko lives in the city of Slobodzeya. She celebrated her 85th birthday on the 20th of January. The veteran received congratulations and warm wishes on her birthday from the deputy of the Supreme Council for the constituency number 21 "Slobodzeya" Pavel Shinkaryuk and the city leadership.

Vera Yuvchenko was born in the Smolensk region. She became a prisoner of fascist concentration camps at the age of 6, together with her family first, on the territory of Belarus, later Poland, Germany, where Vera Andreevna was until 1945. She lives in Slobodzeya 50 years. She worked in the District Committee of the Party, the Council of Collective Farms, the Research Institute of Agriculture in Tiraspol, and in the School of Mechanization in Karagash. Before retiring, she worked as a chief economist in the Selkhozkhimiya inter-farm production association, in the social assistance service at home. She received the honorary title "Veteran of Labour" for her contribution to the development of the region.

The deputy of the Supreme Council, the leadership of the city district council and the state administration thanked the veteran of labor for many years of conscientious work, an active life position. They wished Vera Andreevna Yuvchenko good health, longevity and prosperity.

The hero of the day showed the guests photos of her sons. The eldest, Alexander, worked as a chief mechanical engineer at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. Alexander Yuvchenko helped firefighters eliminate the accident and rescue the victims during an explosion that occurred at a nuclear power plant in 1986. He died from radiation sickness. The youngest son of Vera Andreevna, Vladimir, is a master of sports of international class in rowing, a participant and winner of many international competitions. He took part as part of the USSR national team at the Olympics in 1988. Now he lives in Russia, every time when it is possible he comes to visit his mother in his hometown. Vera Yuvchenko proudly talks about her sons and helps raise her grandson and great-grandchildren.
