Two leading print media outlets of the republic – “The Pridnestrovie” and “The Adevarul Nistrean” newspapers celebrated their 30th anniversary. Deputy chairman of the relevant parliamentary Committee on Education, Public Associations and Mass Media Andrei Safonov came to the ceremonial meeting to congratulate the media on this important date on behalf of the Supreme Council.
The editors-in-chief, together with public figures and invited guests, took part in the ceremony of canceling stamps dedicated to the anniversary newspapers on the eve of the ceremonial meeting, which took place in the small hall of the Palace of the Republic. The editor-in-chief of Pridnestrovie right after that presented the latest issue of the newspaper, which will be in the hands of Pridnestrovian readers no earlier than Saturday morning. The new issue is dedicated to the newspaper's anniversary. It was published with an updated header. There are easily recognizable geographical outlines of Pridnestrovie among the letters.
The republic's main newspaper in Russian began with a tiny rented room in the old Druzhba Hotel three decades ago. All its equipment consisted of one typewriter and a telephone, but people has always been the main thing. Those who write, and those about whom they write. It is thanks to talented journalists and grateful readers, noted the editors-in-chief of the newspapers Pridnestrovie and Adevarul Nistrean, that print media have retained their relevance and are constantly increasing their circulation.
Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Education, Public Associations and Mass Media Andrei Safonov considers that Pridnestrovian newspapers remain one of the most popular, and most importantly, reliable sources of information. The parliamentarian particularly focused on the role of “The Adevarul Nistryan” unique Moldovan-language newspaper.
The parliamentarian presented the two editors with welcoming addresses from the Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Alexander Korshunov. The Speaker noted, the newspapers have not only gained popularity, but also taken a worthy place in the information space of our republic over 30 years of painstaking and responsible work.
The editor-in-chief of the newspaper “Pridnestrovie” spoke today about a new book, the sixth in a row, which was published through the joint efforts of all journalists of the print media of Pridnestrovie. The book “A Word about the Journalists of Pridnestrovie” is a collection of essays that came from the pens of both the journalists themselves and their family members.
At the end of the ceremonial meeting, distinguished journalists were awarded orders and medals.
