The Fair for Light Industry Day: New Products from Manufacturers and Awards to Workers in the Industry

Light Industry Day is celebrated in Pridnestrovie on the second Sunday of June. There are 15 enterprises in our republic that produce footwear, textiles and clothing. An exhibition and fair of products from light industry enterprises began in the Yekaterininsky Park in Tiraspol at 9 am. Residents of Tiraspol and guests of the capital gathered at the pavilions with clothing and footwear from Pridnestrovian manufacturers Intercentrlux, Odema, Floare, Softshoes, Tellus, Tirotex and others from early morning. Representatives of the republic's leadership inspected the exhibition.

The first President of the PMR Igor Smirnov talked to representatives of the Intercentrlux company and said that he had come today specially in a suit made by this factory. The garment workers appreciated it.

The central place at the exhibition is traditionally occupied by the textile giant Tirotex. Its pavilions have the longest queues – Tiraspol residents and guests of the capital are interested in the quality of the fabric and the designs of bed linen and dining sets. They also buy new products that Tirotex released especially for the professional holiday. These are four sets of combed satin. It is breathable and does not lose its shape after washing. The official presentation of the Aquarelle bed linen collection took place at special pavilions, where you can admire the beauty of the new designs and feel the silkiness of the satin fabric. The Aquarelle collection is the view of Tirotex artists on summer, said the company's general director, deputy of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Andrey Mezhinsky. The Minister of Education Svetlana Ivanishina immediately had a question – is it possible to make a collection of children's bed linen with drawings of the winners of art competitions. Andrey Mezhinsky recalled that such a project at "Tirotex" already took place several years ago and it can be renewed. The first President of the PMR, the head of the Advisory Assembly of the first Pridnestrovian deputies under the Chairman of the Supreme Council of the PMR Igor Smirnov suggested that the enterprise announce a drawing competition for a children's collection of bed linen. As a deputy of the Supreme Council Committee on Economic Policy, Budget and Finance Andrey Mezhinsky congratulated the employees of his enterprise and the workers of all light industry enterprises on the holiday, everyone who creates comfort, style and quality with their work. He wished inspiration and confidence in the future. The best representatives of the light industry were honored on the stage of the Catherine Park after the exhibition. State awards were presented to employees of the factories of the clothing and footwear industry by the First Deputy Chairman of the Government of the PMR Minister of Economic Development Sergey Obolonik. Sergei Obolonik worked at Tirotex ten years ago, and he has headed the ministry that oversees and supports enterprises since 2016, including those in the light industry. Laws on measures to support the textile and clothing industries are adopted jointly with the Supreme Council. Addressing the workers of light industry enterprises, Sergei Obolonik thanked them for their work in the difficult conditions of the energy crisis.

The Order of Labor Glory was awarded to Svetlana Vinogradova, head of the hardware warehouse at Odema CJSC, for many years of work.

Vera Timofeeva, an employee of Tirotex CJSC, was awarded the medal For Labor Valor. She has been working at the enterprise as a finishing operator for 35 years and is proud of the successes of her native Tirotex.

There were concert numbers from Pridnestrovian artists after the awarding of the best employees of the industry.
