Interaction between the Parliament and the Arbitration Court

06.04.2022

The Arbitration Court received 962 applications last year, including claims. This figure increased by 2.8% compared to 2020. The Chairman of the Arbitration Court Aleksandr Kiyko presented information about the activity to the deputies at the plenary session. Parliamentarians were able to ask questions. For example, Chairman of the Supreme Council Alexander Korshunov was interested in the presence of a personnel problem. According to the Chairman of the court, the number of cases under consideration has remained stable over the past few years, and there are enough judges at the moment.

The deputies of the Supreme Council were interested in what caused the increase in the number of cases on liquidation of enterprises and organizations (131 cases) and bankruptcy (143 cases).

As Alexander Kiyko noted, there are difficulties with the duration of consideration of some bankruptcy cases. This is due to the fact that it is impossible in a short period of time to sell the property that the bankrupt offers to pay off accounts payable, said the Chairman of the Arbitration Court. He emphasized that the work in resolving current issues continues together with the Parliament.

The deputies took note of the information of the Arbitration Court. The relevant resolution, prepared by the Legislation Committee was adopted by the Supreme Council.
