The agenda of the next plenary meeting was a question from the category of international relations. The deputy corps on the recommendation of the parliamentary commission on foreign policy and international relations adopted the law-in-draft "On Ratification of the Treaty on Friendship, Cooperation and Partnership between the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic and the Republic of Abkhazia" proposed by the President Vadim Krasnoselsky. On behalf of the President he was represented by Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatyev.
More than 30 different documents regulating our relations with Abkhazia in the sphere of trade, economy, science, culture, humanitarian issues were signed in the development of the friendship treaty over 24 years of diplomatic relations. This year, for example, the Supreme Council ratified an agreement on mutual visa-free travel of citizens of the two countries.
On September 29, 2017, during his visit to Sukhum, the PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky and his Abkhaz counterpart Raul Khajimba signed a new edition of the treaty on friendship, cooperation and partnership between the PMR and Abkhazia. He, according to the official representative of the Republic of Abkhazia in Pridnestrovie Alexander Vataman, "meets the current realities". The parties in the document mutually recognize the independence and sovereignty of each other, agreed on free entry of citizens, joint struggle against crime, assistance in the aftermath of emergencies, other aspects of interaction.
During the discussion of the provisions of the bill, the Chairman of the Supreme Council, Alexander Scherba, noted the high level of cooperation between fraternal republics, including in the legislative sphere.
In accordance with the current legislation, the deputies of the Supreme Council unanimously voted for the adoption of the law-in-draft "On Ratification of the Treaty on Friendship, Cooperation and Partnership between the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic and the Republic of Abkhazia".
