Vyacheslav Kogut: an example of service to his native city and republic

A statesman of Pridnestrovie whose life is inextricably linked with the history of the city of Bendery and the formation of Pridnestrovie as a state Vyacheslav Kogut celebrated his 75th birthday on the 16th of February. Congratulations to the hero of the day were received from the leadership of the city and the republic. Vyacheslav Kogut was personally congratulated by the Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Alexander Korshunov in a solemn atmosphere in the state administration of the city of Bendery.

Vyacheslav Kogut was a deputy of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic of the 1st convocation and the chairman of the Bender City Council at the beginning of the formation of the republic in the early 1990s. However, a special place in his biography is occupied by the events of the 1990s, when he became one of those who stood up to defend his hometown during the period of armed aggression. He led people during this difficult period, repelling attacks by nationalists and protecting the city from external threats, according to the BTV.

The hero of the day was one of the first to join the Council of Labor Collectives. His leadership qualities were demonstrated not only in the defense of the city, but also in the desire to restore normal life. He had to make difficult decisions in conditions of political instability.

Vyacheslav Kogut continued his public activity as the head of the state administration of the city of Bendery in the 2000s, paying special attention to strategic planning, together with his team he developed projects aimed at improving the lives of Bendery residents. Vyacheslav Kogut has been a member of the Advisory Assembly of the First Pridnestrovian Deputies under the Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic since 2016.
