Approximately 25% of road accidents in the republic occur due to telephone conversations and correspondence in messengers while driving. This is the statistics of recent years. The ban on the use of the phone has been spelled out since 2017 in the Traffic Rules of the PMR. Deputies of the Supreme Soviet Galina Antyufeeva and Vitaly Kalin proposed to amend the norms of the Code of Administrative Offenses and introduce administrative responsibility for using the telephone so that the drivers do not neglect him. If you need to answer a call, you need to use a Bluetooth headset or turn on the speakerphone.

The authors of the amendments to the Administrative Offenses Code suppose: the introduction of administrative responsibility will discipline drivers. The fine is 5 minimum wage (92 rubles) for the first offense, and 30 minimum wage (552 rubles) for the second offense. The commission of an offense will not be detected by means of video cameras of the Safe City system. The fact of using the phone will be recorded by the traffic militia inspectors with participation of witnesses.

The amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses adopted by the parliament were sent as a law to the President for signature.
