The Holiday of Courage

The most courageous holiday - February 23 is celebrated today in Pridnestrovie. Exactly 100 years ago, our soldiers won battles with the Germans near Pskov and Narva. This day was called the birthday of the simple and straight forward Red Army.

Solemn events took place at the capital's memorial of Glory. Special congratulations to the military sounded. They are the first to stand up for the protection of families and Motherland. Military servicemen of the Armed Forces of Pridnestrovie, veterans of the Great Patriotic War, all those who served and those who have to defend their homeland, were congratulated by the Chairman of the Supreme Council Alexander Shcherba on the holiday.

It was noted today at the meeting that not only men but also women are protecting the borders of our Motherland. They also received congratulations. With gratitude today we talked about Russian peacekeepers who have been protecting peace in our republic for almost 26 years.

Pupils of Suvorov Military College are followers of the traditions of the soldiers first of the Russian Imperial, and then of the Soviet Army. They have only just begun to comprehend the basics of military art. A cadet Dmitry Shevchuk congratulated on February 23 on behalf of all students of the Tiraspol Military School named after A.V. Suvorov.

At the end of the solemn part, the deputies of the Supreme Council, representatives of the government, public men and citizens laid flowers to the plates of fallen.
