Inauguration of the President of the Republic of Abkhazia

The inauguration ceremony of the elected President of the Republic of Abkhazia was opened by the speaker of the National Assembly - the Parliament of the Republic of Abkhazia Valery Kvarchia. The elected President of the Republic, Raul Khajimba, took the oath in the presence of members of parliament, judges of the Constitutional and Supreme Courts, and numerous guests.

The President emphasized that the promotion of international recognition remains the main task. There is also a lot of work aimed at improving the quality of life of citizens. In particular, in the sphere of socio-economic development, social policy, it is necessary to intensify the fight against crime, legal nihilism in society, and corruption at all levels.

The President thanked everyone who supported him in the elections and at the same time noted that he remains president for all citizens of the country. Khajimba called on all the political forces of the republic to dialogue for the good of the state and stability.

The solemn event was continued by the heads of delegations who arrived in Abkhazia to participate in the ceremony. In the provided word, the Chairman of the PMR Supreme Council  Alexander Korshunov congratulated Raul Khadzhimba on his official assumption of office and read out the congratulatory address of the PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky.

Among the speakers there was Head of the Donetsk People’s Republic, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Lugansk People’s Republic, the Minister of Culture, Youth and Tourism of the Artsakh Republic. Chairman of the State Council of the Republic of Adygea, Chairman of the Government of the Republic of Kalmykia, Head of the Administration of the Head of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly of the Karachay-Cherkess Republic, Chairman of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, Deputy Chairman of the Parliament of the Chechen Republic.

The inauguration took place in accordance with the law on the thirtieth day after the announcement of the final results of the presidential election. The second round of presidential elections in Abkhazia was held on September 8. The next day, September 9, the CEC announced the final results - defeated Khajimba, gaining 47.39% of the vote.

On the eve of the ceremony, Chairman of the Supreme Council Alexander Korshunov met with his colleague Valery Kvarchia, speaker of the National Assembly - Parliament of the Republic of Abkhazia.
