The Meetings with Citizens

In the course of the meetings there were no empty seats in public reception rooms. Local residents, many of whom voted for "The United Russia" party in the Duma elections in September 2016, asked the parliamentarian many questions that concerned primarily the accrual of the Russian pension to the residents of Pridnestrovie and simplification of the procedure for obtaining Russian citizenship.

Artem Turov said that there is serious progress in resolving the acute problem with citizenship. According to him, the State Duma deputies have introduced and actively discuss legislations designed to facilitate the procedure for adoption of Russian citizenship by Russian speakers and children, at least one of whose parents possesses it. The deputy expressed hope that the documents will be adopted. The Russian legislator noted that cooperation between Russian parliamentarians and Pridnestrovian colleagues in various areas has recently increased significantly.

The deputy held receptions of citizens on personal issues both in Grigoriopol and Dubossary, took control of a number of appeals. Turov thanked the Pridnestrovians for their support of United Russia representatives in the past elections, noted the importance of direct communication with voters, which, he said, would continue.
