Meeting of the President Vadim of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Krasnoselsky with the leaders of public organizations and associations of defenders of Pridnestrovie was held in the House of Official Receptions on the eve of the 30th anniversary of the Bendery tragedy. The Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Alexander Korshunov, as well as the Chairman of the PMR Government Alexander Rozenberg, the Ministers of Health, Social Protection, Foreign Affairs, Defense, Internal Affairs and State Security took part in the conversation on topical issues.

Vadim Krasnoselsky commented on the situation in Pridnestrovie and abroad and answered questions from the defenders. Most of the appeals are related to social, medical and financial support for defenders of the PMR, their wives, widows and children.

The state will continue to support the defenders of the republic, in any economic situation in the country. The issues of providing those in need with social housing, material support for the families of the deceased defenders of Pridnestrovie were raised in the course of the meeting. Some of the legislations that relate to the payment of one-time financial assistance on the Day of Memory and Sorrow have already been adopted by the deputies of the Supreme Council, for example. This year it is 700 rubles. They are planned to be paid in two stages. The first 200 rubles have already been paid. The remaining funds will be sent to recipients by the end of June. Widows of defenders will also receive material assistance this year. This is an additional 1116 people.

One of the important topics is medical services. The state pays special attention to this area. Thus, the President of the PMR Vadim Krasnoselsky noted, the amount of funding for providing emergency assistance to Pridnestrovians abroad increased from 3 million rubles last year to 33 million this year.

Summing up the dialogue, the President emphasized that the situation in the republic is not easy, but even in these conditions it is necessary to find compromises, seek solutions to problems, and most importantly, preserve Pridnestrovie, its people, and fulfill social obligations.

A separate request from the leadership of the republic to the defenders is to tell the younger generation about the history of Pridnestrovie, the conflict of the early 90s.
