The Supreme Council was visited by representatives of the United States Foreign Ministry. They were received by the Chairman of the Supreme Council Committee on Education, Science and Culture, Deputy Chairman of the Parliamentary Commission on Foreign Policy and International Relations Mikhail Burla.
He told his counterpart that Pridnestrovie has extensive international relations, primarily in the economic, humanitarian, cultural, and educational fields. The Moscow Memorandum, signed on May 8, 1997 by Moldova and Pridnestrovie, as well as mediators of the negotiation process, helps to keep the extensive international relations.
State Department, that is an analogue of our Ministry of Foreign Affairs, issues of regional security, resolution of regional conflicts. An important purpose of the visit is to communicate with representatives of the OSCE, as well as conflicting parties.
Traditionally, the conversation began with introductory information about the work of our legislature.
Mikhail Burla in the course of the dialogue reflected the role of parliament in various fields of activity, talked about the adopted Pridnestrovian Development Strategy until 2026, economic projects implemented in the republic, and the recent investment forum in Tiraspol. As it was noted, this year the tourism topic was especially actively discussed. At the same time, tourism is viewed not only through the prism of the economy, but also as an important component that shapes the image of the republic in the world.
