Temporary exemption from obligations of the Chairman of the Supreme Council

The Speaker of the Parliament Alexander Korshunov is released from the performance of official duties for the period of participation in the elections of deputies of the Supreme Council of the VII convocation. Today the deputies voted for the corresponding resolution of the Parliament. It will enter into force on October 22, 2020 and will end on the day of the official publication of the results of elections of deputies of the Supreme Council of the VII convocation. The draft resolution was prepared on the basis of a statement by the Head of the legislatiure. Alexander Korshunov will continue his work in Parliament as a member of the Committee on Economic Policy, Budget and Finance.

The current Head of parliament Alexander Korshunov is registered as a candidate for deputy to the Supreme Council of the VII convocation. According to the current legislation, it is necessary to release him from the performance of his official duties as a speaker within 5 days from the date of registration. From October 22, in accordance with the order on the distribution of duties between the Deputy Chairmen of the Supreme Council, such powers will be performed by the vice speakers.
