The Ability to cover the Budget Deficit

The law-in-draft "On amendments to the Law "On Excise Tax", able to replenish the budget revenues of the Republic was adopted in the first reading. We are talking about the payment of excise tax manufacturers of tobacco products. Author of the law-in-draft Alexander Korshunov said that currently there is no such a rule in Pridnestrovian legislation.

According to data provided by the Registration Chamber of the Ministry of Justice PMR earlier, there two such manufacturers of tobacco products currently registered in the republic.

Minister of Economic Development Alevtina Slinchenko was interested in the rates of charges and the possible amount of cash receipts to the republican budget. Alexander Korshunov noted that there is no information on the volume of tobacco production.

Chairman of the responsible committee, Alexander Martynov noted that in view of the budget deficit for socio-protected articles, the law-in-draft, which is one of anti-crisis measures, improves the situation.

Plans of the profile committee are to hold working meetings with representatives of the Government for the formation of the amendments to the consideration of the document in the second reading.
