From January 1, 2021, stores and trade enterprises will be required to provide the ability to pay for goods by bank transfer - using the card of one of the commercial banks of Pridnestrovie. At the same time, buyers will have the right to choose whether to pay in cash or by card.
If the store or the trading company does not provide the opportunity to pay with bank cards, from July 1, 2021 they will be fined. A fine of 100 to 200 MW is provided for refusing to provide the buyer with the opportunity to pay by bank transfer. For lack of an electronic terminal that provides the opportunity to pay for goods with a credit card, the penalty is even higher - from 200 MW to 400 MW.
The obligation to provide buyers the opportunity to pay by credit card does not apply to activities such as trading in markets, fairs and exhibitions, in kiosks and stalls, schools and clinics. It is allowed to trade only for cash and when selling from tanks: milk, kvass, beer, wine, live fish. If the outlet is in a place where there is no way to connect the Internet.
The adopted law-in-draft introduces amendments to the laws “On the Protection of Consumer Rights” and “On Internal Trade”, the Code of Administrative Offenses, the Labor Code and several other legislative acts.
