The republic continues to implement the state target program for the restoration and development of the PMR reclamation complex for 2022-2026. Systematic work is underway to repair pumping stations and issue preferential loans to farmers for the purchase of irrigation equipment. The main goal of the State program is to increase the volume of irrigated areas.
The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky spoke about the importance of restoring the reclamation complex in January 2024 during the traditional message to government authorities.
Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized that 62 thousand hectares of land were irrigated in the territory of Pridnestrovie during the MSSR. There are 33 thousand hectares at present. Only a little more than 8 thousand hectares of land were under irrigation in 2017, when work on restoring the irrigation system had just begun in the PMR.
According to the report on the implementation of the state program, last year the irrigated area expanded by 3 thousand hectares and currently amounts to almost 33 thousand hectares.
The main activities of the state program were aimed at carrying out work on the restoration and reconstruction of the PMR reclamation complex in 2023, according to the report that the Government presented to parliamentarians at the plenary session. Thus, 13.8 million rubles were allocated from the PMR Reclamation Complex Development Fund for the repair of facilities on the balance sheet of the State Unitary Enterprise “Republican Irrigation Systems”. Another direction is the acquisition of machinery and equipment for the repair of objects of the state reclamation system. About 12.4 million rubles were allocated for these purposes last year. It is noted that all planned activities were completed.
The report notes that it was planned to carry out restoration work at 7 sites in 2023. The work was completed at 3 sites in fact. These are the main pumping stations “Chobruchi”, pumping stations No.3 of the Grigoriopol irrigated massif of the Slobodzeya branch, “Vykhvatintsy” pumping stations of Rybnitsa branch. Work was carried out at another 9 sites in the Slobodzeya, Grigoriopol, Dubossary and Rybnitsa districts, which were not initially indicated in the state program action plan for 2023. Transformer substations were repaired to ensure a trouble-free irrigation system. 25.5 million rubles were financed in fact. The percentage of funding was in fact 35% of the planned volume since the state program initially planned to allocate 71.6 million rubles for 2023.
41.2 million rubles were allocated to cover losses of the State Unitary Enterprise “Republican Irrigation Systems” associated with the supply of water to land users at a preferential tariff, namely to compensate for the difference between the tariff that is currently in force for agricultural business and the economically justified tariff.
Report on the implementation for last year of the state target program for the restoration and development of the reclamation complex of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic for 2022-2026 was approved unanimously by deputies in the course of the plenary meeting, supporting the corresponding resolution.
