The issues of concern to Pridnestrovians were discussed in Moscow (updated)

Today, the PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky met with the Head of the United Russia faction Sergei Neverov and deputies of the Russian State Duma Artem Turov, Sergei Chizhov, Alexander Yaroshuk and Umakhan Umakhanov. This was reported on the website of the President. The dialogue took place at the Official Representation of Pridnestrovie in Moscow. The meeting was attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR Vitaly Ignatiev and the Head of the Pridnestrovian representative office in the Russian capital Leonid Manakov.

The issues of providing diverse social and humanitarian support to Russian compatriots living in Pridnestrovie; simplification of the mechanism for granting Pridnestrovians citizenship of the Russian Federation; optimization of consular services; possibility of using maternity capital and health insurance on the territory of the PMR were included to the agenda.

The meeting participants exchanged views on the current situation around Pridnestrovie. At the same time, the most important stabilizing role of the peacekeeping operation on the Dniester was emphasized.

The parties discussed next year areas of cooperation.

The issues of concern to Pridnestrovians are raised by the deputies of the PMR Supreme Council. Meetings with Russian colleagues are held regularly. Dialogue between Pridnestrovian parliamentarians and Umakhan Umakhanov took place a month ago. The Russian MP is the Deputy Chairman of the Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots. He has headed the commission on the problems of compatriots outside the Russian Federation for more than a year now.

Deputies of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Artem Turov and Sergei Chizhov represent the interests of compatriots living in Pridnestrovie in the Russian parliament. Russian deputies visited Pridnestrovie on the occasion of a single voting day in the republic recently. The parliamentarians also stressed the role of the Russian peacekeeping mission on the banks of the Dniester. According to Sergei Chizhov, peacekeepers are the guarantor that multinational peoples will live in peace.
