The fourth meeting of the fourth session of the VII convocation was held in the Supreme Council. It began with a moment of silence in memory of the killed children and adults at a Russian school in Izhevsk.
The deputies turning to the agenda discussed a number of issues prepared for consideration by parliamentary committees. It was in particular about making changes to the Criminal Code of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic.
The article of the Code on exemption from criminal liability in connection with reconciliation with the victim has been updated at the suggestion of the PMR Prosecutor. When preparing the law-in-draft for the second reading, amendments were prepared taking into account the opinions and proposals of the deputies of the Legislation Committee, the Government and the Supreme Court.
They can be released from criminal liability if a person for the first time committed a crime of small or medium gravity without causing harm to health, reconciled with the victim and made amends. The release will also apply to minors who committed a crime for the first time without causing harm to health, for which up to 7 years in prison are provided. A prerequisite is reconciliation with the victim and making amends.
The profile committee clarified that if a minor has repeatedly committed this kind of crime, compensated the damage to the injured party, then the court can release him from liability.
The draft law on amendments to the Criminal Code, adopted in the final reading, has been sent to the President for signature.
