The Issues of Citizenship and Public Control

The Presidium of the Supreme Council formed the agenda of the plenary session. Deputies in the third and final reading will consider a package of legislations on citizenship and migration. As the Vice-Speaker Galina Antyufeeva noted, a lot of work was done and the package of documents was ready for adoption. It should be reminded that this is a draft of the constitutional law "On the citizenship of PMR", draft laws "On the order of entry to PMR and exit from PMR", "On the Legal Status of Foreign Citizens and Stateless Persons in Pridnestrovie", "On Migration Registration of Foreign Citizens and Stateless Persons in PMR", "On the right of citizens of PMR to freedom of movement, choice of place of residence and residence within the republic".

Members of the Presidium included legislations "On the Public Chamber" and "On Public Control" to the agenda of the plenary session. They are submitted for consideration in the first reading. As the Chairman of the Supreme Council Alexander Shcherba noted, the mechanisms for implementing public control are enshrined in the legislation of the Russian Federation and operate both at the local and federal levels. Head of the Committee for State Regional Policy Oleg Vasilaty drew attention to the fact that the right to express their opinion or the position of a public association, to assess the decisions taken is enshrined in the Constitution. The possibility of public discussion of topical issues of the state is also provided for in the law-in-draft "On public hearings", which was adopted by legislators.

Identified during the meeting of the Presidium issues will be considered by the Supreme Council May 31. The next plenary meeting will be held May 17.
