The 30 anniversary of the PMR Armed Forces

The history of our army is inextricably linked with the history of the republic. This was stated by the Minister of Defense of the PMR Oleg Obruchkov, opening a solemn meeting for the 30th anniversary of the creation of the Armed Forces of the PMR. The event, which was organized on the summer stage of the Alexander Nevsky Park in the Bendery Fortress, was attended by the President of the PMR Vadim Krasnoselsky, Vice Speaker Galina Antyufeyeva, representatives of the Government, heads of administrations of cities and regions of the republic, representatives of public organizations, veterans of the PMR Armed Forces, defenders of Pridnestrovie.

The Defense Minister recalled that in 1991, when the threat of military intervention from Moldova became obvious, the Supreme Council decided to create the Republican Guard. Guards, militias, soldiers of the Territorial Rescue Detachment and Cossacks, who stood up to defend their homeland, defended its independence. The Armed Forces have been developing over the past 30 years. Today, a modern army has been created in Pridnestrovie, capable of effectively solving the assigned tasks and giving a worthy rebuff to the aggressor.

The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky noted three important aspects of development of our Armed Forces: material and technical, personnel and financial support.

All the military were congratulated by the Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council Galina Antyufeyeva on the anniversary of the Armed Forces of Pridnestrovie. The Vice-Speaker noted that this is a holiday for those who have chosen an excellent profession - to defend the Motherland, to defend their home, their family, their country.

Distinguished servicemen were awarded orders, medals and diplomas of the PMR President for their great contribution to the protection, formation and development of the PMR, active social activities, conscientious work, high professionalism, and in connection with the 30th anniversary of the creation of the PMR Armed Forces. A number of officers were awarded regular military ranks in honor of the holiday. Festive concert was organized on the summer stage of the Alexander Nevsky Park at the end of the solemn meeting.
