06.09.2022

The Armed Forces of the PMR is 31 years old. The idea of creating special formations that would protect the young republic from attacks from Moldova was voiced at the IV Congress of People's Deputies of all levels on September 2, 1991. The Supreme Council of the PMR adopted a resolution on the formation of the Republican Guard on September 6, 1991, which became the prototype of the current Armed Forces. The resolution was adopted on the enactment of the law "On the Republican Guard" on September 10. Protecting the sovereignty, independence, territorial integrity of the republic, the rights and freedoms of its citizens - these are the main goals of the creation of the Republican Guard. They remain so to this day.

By the holiday date, the Ministry of Defense held a number of ceremonial events. Caserns were opened at the training center of the Ministry of Defense after repairs on September 5. Window and door blocks, electrical wiring, and plumbing have been completely replaced in the overhauled buildings. The territory of the training center has been put in order. A car wash and a daily vehicle inspection point are equipped. Access roads to the facilities were improved. According to the website of the President of the PMR, the training center of the Ministry of Defense is an example of the transformation of army locations. Repair and construction work is being carried out in stages. Training rooms, a canteen, a library, a tactical field, boxes for servicing vehicles were put in order earlier.

The Commander-in-Chief arrived to congratulate the servicemen. Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized the importance of the army for the state, spoke about the need to create comfortable conditions for serving, equipping army units. The President noted that a lot has been done in this direction in Pridnestrovie over the past few years. Work continues. The President is confident that the task he set for the next four years to completely upgrade the infrastructure of the Armed Forces of the Republic is feasible.

The servicemen of one of the capital's military units met in the renovated caserns on September 6, on the day of the formation of the Armed Forces. The two-storey building has been extensively renovated. A solemn ceremony of putting the object into operation took place today. It was said in the course of the event that improving the conditions of service, improving the material and technical base of the armed forces is one of the important directions of the internal policy of Pridnestrovie. According to the site of the President, more than a dozen objects have been brought into proper shape in a few years. Funds are allocated from the state budget within the framework of the fund program and through the defense department. Work in this direction will continue until each military unit and institutions under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Defense do not infrastructurally correspond to their important purpose.

A delegation led by the PMR President came to congratulate the servicemen. Vadim Krasnoselsky and the leadership of the parliament toured the renovated, furnished and equipped caserns. An interesting detail: the beds were not ordered, they were made by the servicemen themselves from materials purchased by the ministry. Improvement will continue. Blinds will help to create a more cozy and comfortable atmosphere in the sleeping quarters, for example. Defense Minister Oleg Obruchkov told the President that they will be installed on the windows in the near future. The army educates men, trains the defenders of the Motherland, and the conditions for serving must be appropriate, Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized.

Discussing future plans, the interlocutors mentioned the construction of new buildings of the Military Institute of the PMR Ministry of Defense. All locations of the educational institution will be compactly located in the central part of the capital upon completion of the work. A stage-by-stage reconstruction of the health-improving complex "Dniester Dawns", transferred to the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Defense, is also underway.
